Breakthrough in Degradable Hygiene Materials Technology, Full Biodegradable Nonwoven Fabrics Realize Industrialization

Recently, the research team of Fuzhou University, in cooperation with Meijia Shuang Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., has successfully developed a full biodegradable nonwoven fabric material, which has achieved industrialization and mass production. This technological breakthrough solves the problem of environmental pollution caused by traditional non-degradable hygiene materials and promotes the green transformation of the hygiene materials industry. The full biodegradable nonwoven fabric material adopts a PBAT ternary blending system, which has both high strength, softness, and fast water absorption performance, and can fully meet the use requirements of hygiene products.
Traditional Nonwoven Fabrics used in hygiene materials are mainly made of petroleum-based materials, which are difficult to degrade in the natural environment and will cause serious environmental pollution. With the increasing emphasis on environmental protection in various countries, the demand for degradable hygiene materials is growing. The full biodegradable nonwoven fabric material developed by the research team of Fuzhou University and Meijia Shuang has solved this problem. This material can be completely degraded into carbon dioxide and water in the natural environment within 180 days, without causing any environmental pollution. At the same time, the material also has good performance, which is not inferior to traditional Nonwoven Fabrics in terms of strength, softness, and water absorption.
The PBAT ternary blending system adopted by the material is a new type of biodegradable material system, which combines the advantages of PBAT, PLA, and other materials. PBAT has good toughness and biodegradability, PLA has good rigidity and biocompatibility, and the addition of other auxiliary materials further improves the performance of the material. The material has been tested by authoritative institutions, and its biodegradation rate, mechanical strength, and other indicators all meet the national standards. It can be widely used in the production of disposable hygiene products such as baby diapers, Sanitary Napkins, and adult incontinence products.
Meijia Shuang said that it has built a production line with an annual output of 10,000 tons of full biodegradable Nonwoven Fabrics, which has been put into production. The products have been well received by the market since they were launched. The research team of Fuzhou University said that they will continue to carry out in-depth research on degradable hygiene materials technology, further improve the performance of materials, reduce production costs, and promote the widespread application of degradable hygiene materials.Industry experts believe that the industrialization of full biodegradable Nonwoven Fabrics will promote the green transformation of the hygiene materials industry, help enterprises achieve sustainable development, and meet the increasingly strict environmental protection requirements at home and abroad.
