Quanzhou’s Hygiene Products Industry: A Thriving Hub of Innovation and Integration
Quanzhou, a renowned manufacturing hub in Fujian, has emerged as China’s leading base for hygiene products, boasting a complete industrial chain covering finished goods, machinery, and raw materials.
The city dominates the domestic market: its sanitary napkin output accounts for over 40% of China’s total, while diaper exports exceed 50% of the national share. Home to more than 500 enterprises, including industry leader Heng’an Group, Quanzhou produces high-quality baby diapers, feminine Sanitary Napkins, and adult incontinence products, with brands recognized globally.
A key strength lies in its self-sufficient machinery sector. Local manufacturers such as Niso and Shengquansupply full-servo, high-speed production lines for diapers and Sanitary Napkins, with advanced automation enabling stable output of 800–1200 pieces per minute. These machines are exported worldwide, underpinning the industry’s competitiveness.
Raw material supply is equally robust. The city produces Nonwoven Fabrics, SAP (superabsorbent polymer), PE films, and hot-melt adhesives—core inputs for hygiene products. Firms like Banglida lead in SAP production, while specialized manufacturers supply high-performance nonwovens, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality material support.
With government targets to reach a 110-billion-yuan industry scale by 2028 (annual growth: 16%), Quanzhou is accelerating digital transformation and expanding into pet hygiene products. Integrating manufacturing, machinery, and materials, it remains a global benchmark for the hygiene products industry.
